201 N Roosevelt St. There are times when we all need help... Someone to listen... An objective opinion...
Someone trained to make a difference when life hits us hard.
The word “selah” (from the Psalms) means “to pause and think calmly”--something that is sorely needed in this bustling, noisy world. Selah Center is just that—a quiet place, set apart—a little blue house offering peace, acceptance, and refuge. Its home-like atmosphere takes counseling out of a sterile medical setting and moves it into a place more like ordinary life--without the stress and distractions. When you walk into the parlor of our comfortable little house, you will know you have found such a place. Help yourself to a cup of tea, coffee or hot chocolate, and relax while you wait for your appointment with our experienced counselor, Dr. Talitha Fair.
New! Don't miss the story of Lilly! In the 21st century serious mental illnesses are often treated as permanent, incurable, and their victims regarded as “chronics” who can only look forward to a life of maladjustment, social rejection, and unhappiness. They are given drugs and told to live with it. But Lily Farmer argues loudly with that view. Lily is a real person who has been free from mental illness for over 30 years. Lilly Be Free! Her story, which will be presented here, serially (a new episode every couple of weeks) is mean't to provide thoughts and ideas to help those who are presently struggling. Comments, discussion, questions, and argument are welcome Contact Us
